A few chapters behind the conversation
My career has followed more than one interest. Homes, technology, and music have each given me opportunities to work with people who care deeply about what they do.
Those experiences continue to influence the way I approach a project and the questions I ask.
Homes and construction
Work in the Hamptons gave me a practical appreciation for how many decisions come together in a residence. The finished space reflects the conversations between the homeowner, the designer, the builder, and the people responsible for its details.
That perspective remains useful when discussing technology within a larger architectural plan.
An early interest in connected life
My background also includes Peconic Online and internet services. It was a different period in technology, but the work raised a familiar question: how can a new capability become useful to the person using it?
I still enjoy that part of the conversation.
Music and radio
Music has been a lasting interest, from The Music Hall to my work with Pete Fornatale on Mixed Bag Radio. Listening closely is part of the pleasure, whether to a recording or to the person telling the story behind it.
